How much longer can this go on for?  Do we really believe earth is limitless?  What do we need to do collectively, TODAY, as a species, to be in a better position?  Here’s a short post that will raise some more important questions and help you in addressing the rest.  Make no mistake about it, this is only going to work with YOUR help, if YOU help out as well.

Consume your food- We throw tons of food away, 7.1 million tons of food each year [SOURCE].

Separate your waste- waste is catching up and is becoming a problem for the UK.  By improving your recycling habits you can improve the ratio of useful waste you have that companies can reuse.  Great things to recycle are paper, cardboard, Aluminium, plastic, and broken/old tools. 

Buy your own grocery bag- stop paying the 5p and 10p at the store, just get your own bag.  Those bags don’t break down so do your environment a favour and stop using them.

Support independent specialist stores- not chains.  Supermarket chains are using large scale logistics with large carbon footprints.  Use your locals, focus on the local produce.  Here are UK’s seasonal fruit and veg [SOURCE].

  • Buy larger quantities if you are buying packaged products
  • Detergents, soaps, cleaning products, legumes, rice
  • Freeze fruits and when they are in season and cheap
  • Use facilities when necessary
  • Full loads of dishwashers
  • Full loads of washing machines
  • Get your own coffee mug for coffee shops
  • Buy things from as close a distance to you as possible- don’t carry products around the city
  • Use public transport and carpool services more than you use a personal transport vehicle

We should only produce what we consume.  My thoughts are that we unnecessarily waste huge resources on giving people personal ownership to cars.  That should be a thing of the past.  People should share rides.  How many hours of driving do you actually do per day?  What if we could create a system where people are just owning the car for the few short hours they need to work, then someone else should be illegal for people to just use a car for 1 person and that car sharing services

Supermarkets should reduce their hold of ingredients and focus on seasonal local products.  We shouldn’t have coconuts flown in from Indonesia when you’ve got delicious alternatives here.  Our current key driver for offers is pricing, but that is not reflective of the carbon footprint.  Companies and people need to think more about sustainable growth, not just growth.  Products brought in should be minimal in waste, transport, processing, handling, storage, and merchandising

We need to stop throwing away foods that are “not pretty” or don’t meet supermarket’s “standards”.  All food should be consumed.

Humans are experiencing first hand the meaning of shifts of climate balance and the chaos that is caused by it. 

How many billions and billions have we lost to natural disasters, to rebuilding destroyed homes, to fixing preventable behaviours that are further exacerbating this cycle.

How do I place an order?

All orders must be made online. We offer delivery services and/or store collection. We are not open for store walk-ins.

When will I receive my order?

Delivery date depends on (a) your delivery address, and (b) the date and time you placed the order.

A) London orders will usually be delivered next day. Outside-of-London orders will be dispatched from our store the next day and delivered the day after (e.g. orders placed on Monday, will be dispatched on Tuesday and delivered over-night where you would receive them on Wednesday. you will either receive the order the next day or the day after

B) Cut off time for next day delivery (London orders), or next day dispatch (outside-London orders) is 5:00 pm GMT today

Can I collect my order?

Yes. You can use store-collection service at check out, and you can collect from our store at 169 Battersea High Street SW11 3JS. Simply by adding preferred pick up time (between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm) in the notes section at check out

When is Manna Dew open?

We are open Mondays through Saturdays and we are off on Sundays. Orders placed on Saturdays will be delivered (London orders) or dispatched (outside London) on Monday. Customer service is available from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm Mondays through Saturdays. Please email indulge@mannadew.co.uk or whatsapp 07503200020 with your Order Number or questions.

Can I amend my order?

Order changes can be accommodated assuming required changes are communicated to the customer service team before 5:00 pm of the day before the scheduled delivery / dispatch. To add / change items, you will need to get in touch with the customer service team. Payments and price difference for additional / changes items is required via website or PayPal.

Can I cancel my order?

Orders can be cancelled, and a refund can be processed only if cancellation is done before 5:00 pm of the day before the scheduled delivery / dispatch. Refunds take up to 5 working days to be processed. We cannot cancel / refund any orders that have been dispatched.

Is there a minimum spend?

The minimum order amount is 25 GBP for London and outside London orders.

Can I place orders in advance?

Yes! You can schedule orders for up to 60 days in advance and choose any delivery day except for Sunday.

What if my order is late?

We do our best to work with the most reliable courier companies. However, sometimes things outside of a courier’s control can cause a delay. Where we can, we will always try and proactively call you if we become aware that your order might not arrive on time. Orders can be one day late. If your order is more than a day late, we will resend you a new order the soonest possible.

What if I’m not around when my rider arrives?

Our courier will always try to call you if there’s an issue once they reach your delivery address. Please check your emails during the delivery time for any updates. If we can’t contact you and are unable to deliver the order, your rider will wait for up to 10 minutes before leaving. In this event, we will leave your goods in a safe place or with your neighbour and will let you know where it is.  These circumstances are not eligible for refunds if something happens to your parcel. To prevent this from happening, it’s always a good idea to double-check your contact and address details and make sure someone is available to receive your parcel during the delivery window.

What if something is wrong with my order?

If specific items were missing from your order, we will refund you for those items. You will be required to get in touch with the customer service team and provide proof for the missing items (e.g. photo) of your whole order.

Does Manna Dew offer subscription accounts?

We are working on adding subscription feature to our website. However, in the meantime if you would like to subscribe and receive a specific order on a repetitive basis, please get I touch with us via email (indulge@mannadew.co.uk) with the “subject: subscription”, detailing the items and frequency you’d like to subscribe to and we will respond with next steps.
